Riley Dyche, Iditarod
Our clinic is so excited to announce sponsorship of Riley Dyche and his energetic team of sled dogs for the 2026 Iditarod Race. We asked Riley to give us a little about himself and here is what he had to say:

"I first discovered sled dogs and mushing while attending college in Leadville, CO. A classmate of mine who worked at a mushing tourism operation took me on a fall training run with a team of Alaskan Huskies in September of 2010. The dog's energy, excitement, and obvious joy while in harness had me instantly hooked. I went on to work for that same company for two winter seasons giving sled dog rides to tourists, learning the basics of mushing along the way. I knew I had to come to Alaska to advance my knowledge of the sport so in April of 2012 I took a job with Matt Hall helping to train and race his junior varsity team of sled dogs. Matt; along with Ryne Olsen, and Sven Haltmann all in subsequent years, mentored and taught me about training and racing at a competitive level. In 2015 I started my own kennel, Dark Horse Sled Dogs. Since that time I've completed the Yukon Quest 1000 in 2018, The Iditarod in 2020, 22', 23', and 2025', along with many 100-550 mile races. My wife Isabel and I currently have 30 dogs, two cats, and two guinea pigs at our home in Big Lake, Alaska. We are focused on building a dog team with the ability to win The Iditarod and Kuskokwim 300 in Bethel, Alaska, while maintaining the highest level of care for our dogs.
Last season we placed second in the highly competitive Kuskokwim 300 and top ten in the Iditarod. In 2022 I was awarded the Humanitarian Award for best cared for dog team in the Willow 300 by the veterinarian team and I have been awarded the Sportsmanship Award (voted on by fellow mushers) in the Yukon Quest 1000, the Two Rivers 200, and the Old Mail Trail 200.
We are very excited and grateful to have the wonderful team at Northern Neurology on board as a corporate sponsor this season to help us in our endeavors and help us to accomplish our goal of winning The Last Great Race."

Our site has added the "New appointment request form" to our website. We have found this to be a fairly successful way to request a new appointment either as a new patient or even if you are a returning patient and would like another appointment for follow up!
If you use this form, please allow at least 48 hours before you receive a call to schedule, this gives us time to process and look for a space available depending on your need and the urgency. We appreciate our patients and continually strive to make things as easy as possible!
