What is Neurology?

Disorders such as Migraines, Headaches, seizures, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, essential tremor, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Epilepsy, Ataxia, Bell's Palsy and more...
Dr. Kelly has over 30 years in the neurology field, in both private practice and hospital in rural and large cities. He is well versed in all that is brain related and continually is attending continuing education on the latest research, testing methods, and treatments so that he can ensure our patients receive the very BEST care he can give.
Alison worked in critical care and emergency medicine before she moved into the specialty field of neurology. She continues to impress everyone with the smallest of details she can pick up on. Alison is always researching into the latest updates in neurological care and treatment and will leave no stone unturned when it comes to her patients.
Our Wasilla clinic offers a variety of diagnostic testing -
-
Lumbar Puncture - this can be done for diagnostic purposes such as diagnosing Multiple Sclerosis, or therapeutically for disorders such as hydrocephalus.
-
Electroencephalogram (EEG) - this is a test to measure the electrical activity of the brain. This is done when seizure activity is suspected.
-
Electromyography (EMG) - this diagnostic test measures the electrical activity of your muscles and nerves. This is done to diagnose and monitor the progression of neuromuscular diseases, determine causes of muscle spasms or cramps or evaluate nerve damage after an injury or surgery.
-
Nerve Conduction Testing (NCV) - this test measures how quickly electrical signals travel through your nerves by stimulating them with small electrical pulses and recording the response. This is used to diagnose conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, Guillian-Barre Syndrome and nerve injuries from trauma.
-
MOCA - this is a screening tool used to assess cognitive function and detect mild cognitive impairment.
