About Alison Armour

Adult General Neurology | Northern Neurology – Wasilla

Alison Armour is an advanced practice nurse practitioner specializing in adult general neurology at Northern Neurology’s Wasilla office. She graduated with honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), with a subspecialty focus in neurology, bringing both advanced clinical training and a deeply patient-centered approach to neurological care.

If you ask Dr. John Kelly what exceptional patient care looks like in practice, he’ll tell you about Alison.

When one of Alison’s patients was experiencing repeated falls at home, she didn’t simply adjust the treatment plan and move on. She recognized that the patient needed a way to call for help when she was alone. Alison researched available resources, located a grant, and helped secure Wi-Fi and a voice-activated device for the patient so she could call for assistance when she needed it.

There’s no billing code for that. It isn’t something that appears on a procedure list.

It’s simply what Alison does.

For Alison, caring for someone with a neurological condition means looking beyond the diagnosis to understand how that condition affects the person’s independence, safety, family, and everyday life. Her approach combines clinical knowledge with resourcefulness, compassion, and a commitment to finding practical solutions that help her patients live more safely and confidently.

At Northern Neurology, Alison represents the kind of care we strive to provide every day: treating the neurological condition while never losing sight of the person living with it.

A PATIENT-CARE STORY

During a complex follow-up, Alison noticed her patient seemed unusually quiet. Instead of reviewing the chart, she pulled up a chair and just listened. It turned out the hurdle wasn’t the medication, but the isolation of the diagnosis. Alison spent the next forty-five minutes simply being present, validating the fear, and slowly rebuilding that person’s confidence. It wasn’t a medical procedure, but it was exactly what was needed.

“There’s no billing code for that.”
